My Underwater Bag
I am often asked what gear I use to shoot underwater portraits, so this post is for the curious ones. I linked each item to a store with a lot more information if you want to dig deeper.
For my underwater portraits I use:
Canon DSLR 5D Mark II camera body with a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 zoom wide angle lens;
Ikelite Housing - it's a hard water and pressure proof case that lets me use camera controls underwater;
Ikelite DS165 Strobes for lighting.
For my fun traveling underwater outings I bring my compact underwater OM camera System: Tough Camera - it can't be beat underwater - it is sturdy, shoots in RAW which means more colors are preserved for post processing even for the basic vacation dives with my kids, plus it has its own underwater housing. I prefer to shoot with my Kraken 24mm lens with dome attached to this camera.
My On Land Photography Gear List is different and has a lot more detail.
