Hi, I am Liza, your photographer on land and under the waves.
My photography journey began with a well-worn passport and a camera in hand, capturing moments from my travels around the globe. After settling in the Pacific Northwest, my lens turned toward my family life — where chaos and beauty often coexisted in the same frame. Eventually, a fascination with the underwater world, thanks to free-diving adventures, led me beneath the waves, where I found a new muse: the enchanting life of the ocean and the magic of underwater portraiture. Somewhere between the forest and the sea, I’ve learned to tell stories that are both grounded and weightless, with photography - a language I speak my best.
I live with my husband and our young children in Bellingham - a small college town on the outskirts of Seattle, framed by the white capped mountains and a vast ocean, we share our home with two dogs, two guinea pigs, countless fish and occasional luna moths. A few fun facts about me: a cup of matcha tea by the fireplace is my favorite way to start a day - even in summer, I love Mondays - I call them "get-it-done-days," I adore fashion but I prefer wearing comfy grunge, taking a trip anywhere - across the globe or to a grocery store near the house is my preferred me-time, a book is my favorite way to unwind for the day, and let's be honest - doomscrolling my favorite artists feels just as good.
