Hi, I’m Liza.
I photograph people
on land and underwater.
I’m based in Bellingham, Washington, and work throughout the Pacific Northwest, with a particular connection to the Olympic Peninsula, the San Juan Islands, and Portland, Oregon. My work spans elopements, events, branding, family and high school senior portraiture, as well as underwater portraiture.
I began photographing during extended travels through Europe and Southeast Asia, working with a small film camera to document people and places. After settling in the Pacific Northwest, my focus shifted closer to home, where family life and my children became an ongoing subject. Over time, my curiosity and search for a challenge extended underwater, where portraiture is shaped by slow movement and paused breath. Working underwater has instilled a deep respect for marine life and the protection of the ecosystems that sustain it.
While my work has been published and exhibited in galleries, what matters most to me is the experience my clients have during our time together. I aim to create imagery through a process that feels relaxed, collaborative, and thoughtfully guided, whether you’re celebrating a relationship, building a brand, or marking a meaningful moment.
A few things about me:
I hold degrees in both science and fashion design, spent years working in television broadcasting, speak three languages, and grow flowers to slow things down. I’m also part of a Type 1 diabetes family, which has made calm problem-solving, organization, and resilience part of everyday life.
